Mumbai, Oct 13: The bail application of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, who is currently lodged in Mumbai’s Arthur Road jail has been adjourned till Thursday. The special court will continue the hearing at 12 pm tomorrow.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has submitted its reply, opposing Aryan Khan’s bail plea. The probe agency said the accused including Aryan Khan are involved in conspiracy.
The NCB in its affidavit also said that Aryan Khan was in touch with some persons, who appear to be a part of an international drug network for procurement of drugs.
Further probe is on with regard to financial transactions done abroad, the agency said.
“During initial investigation, some international linkages pertinent to this applicant (Aryan Khan) have been unearthed which prima facie indicate towards illicit drug procurement. The investigation requires sufficient time so as to approach the foreign agency concerned,” the affidavit said.
Advocate Amit Desai appearing for Aryan Khan said “Aryan did not have cash to buy drugs…Aryan did not have substance to sell and Aryan did not have substance to consume.”
Aryan Khan was linked to illegal trafficking without any recovery, posession.
Acting on a tip-off that a party was to take place on board, an NCB team raided the Goa-bound Cordelia cruise on Saturday evening and claimed to have recovered drugs.
A total of 18 persons have been arrested in the case. The court on Friday also remanded Nigerian national Chinedu Igwe, the latest person to be arrested, in the NCB’s custody till October 11.
Aryan Khan and others were charged with offences under Section 8(c), 20(b), 27, 28, 29 and 35 of the NDPS Act. On October 7, Aryan was remanded to judicial custody for 14 days after which he immediately moved court seeking bail.
